The Medical Assistant (Team Recorder) will be directed by the Nursing Coordinator (Administrative) and Chief Physician and Surgeon (Clinical) in Various Programs at the Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:

• Create and update treatment plans utilizing a variety of computer programs.

• Help to create a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment; apply medical and mental health procedures and techniques; demonstrates professional interactions with patients and maintains therapeutic boundaries.

• Perform clinical duties which may include obtaining patient vital signs, height and weight, administering vaccinations and tuberculin skin tests, performing infectious disease testing and blood draws.

• Attend all trainings, meetings, and committees as directed.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.

You must include a copy of your valid Medical Assistant Certificate from an agency approved by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Medical Board of California, to practice as a Medical Assistant.
